Minister for Labour Affairs Dara Calleary T.D. has confirmed that the National Roads Authority have allocated €100,000 towards the provision of safety measures in the vicinity of St. Muredach’s College on the Sligo Road in Ballina.
“€100,000 has been allocated towards the provision of footpaths, traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing at St. Muredach’s College as part of €1.3 million that was sanctioned for roadworks in the Ballina area under the 2010 National Roads Allocation.
I have long been campaigning for the provision of safety measures at St. Muredach’s College, alongside my colleagues Cllr Annie May Reape, Cllr Johnnie O’Malley, Cllr Willie Nolan and Cllr Frances McAndrew and I am pleased that such works can now proceed,” said Minister Calleary.
