Senator James Carroll has welcomed the news that CCTV will be installed at the bottle banks in Laytown.
“It has been brought to my attention that there is a reoccurring problem with indiscriminate dumping at the bottle banks in Laytown. This is really unfortunate as it is an eye sore and can discourage compliant recyclers from using the bottle banks.”
“My colleague Thomas Byrne TD brought the issue to the attention of Meath County Council seeking a means of resolving the issue.”
“Meath County Council have now confirmed that CCTV cameras will be installed over the coming weeks at the bottle banks in Laytown.”
“These CCTV cameras will help to deter those who are dumping indiscriminately and will help to apprehend those who flout the law.”
“I am hopeful that the CCTV cameras at the bottle bank will restore the cleanliness of the area and will encourage local people to use the facility which is a great addition to the area,” concluded Senator Carroll.
