Delivering for Dublin North

Almost 4,000 people from Dublin have benefitted from the National Treatment Purchase Fund. Under the Fund the average wait time for the most common procedures has been slashed from 2-5 years to 2 to 5 months.
The Dublin Port Tunnel was opened in late 2006.The €751 million Dublin Port Tunnel was the largest piece of infrastructure ever delivered in Ireland ,
Metro North remains a key priority and is expected to operational in 2016. The construction phase is expected to create 37,000 jobs.
Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport will open in November creating 900 new jobs.
Over 500,000 has been invested in primary schools and 400,000 in secondary schools since 2002. This has resulted in 3 new primary schools and one new secondary schools in Dublin Central.
Almost 16 million has been invested in sports clubs and facilities in Dublin central over the last 10 years.

The new prison in Thornton Hall has got the go ahead and will be built on a phased basis. Phase one will see the delivery of the first 400 “high grade” cells suitable for accommodation of up to 700 prisoners by 2014.
Ten New houses for people with intellectual disabilities have opened on the grounds of St Ita’s Hospital in Portrane, Co Dublin.Eighteen clients have moved into three of the houses. All are from north County Dublin, and clients of St Joseph’s Intellectual Disability Service at the hospital. Another 42 clients will move in shortly
